Details: Product description How can the EarPopper help me? The EarPopper balances pressure in the middle ear by delivering a safe, constant stream of air in to the nasal cavity. During the moment of swallowing, the air opens the eustachian tube and clears the middle ear, relieving negative ear pressure and allowing any fluids to drain. Symptoms of negative ear pressure including: hearing loss, feeling of fullness in the ear, headache and dizziness. For some people they can encourage the ears to pop by holding their nose and exhaling, but this does not work for all. For those who suffer with negative ear pressure, there is the EarPopper. Conditions such as otitis media with effusion (glue ear) is when the middle ear becomes filled with thick fluid. This is caused by the eustachian tube becoming blocked meaning air cannot pass through the middle ear. In many cases glue ear will clear up within 3 months but for some the condition lasts longer, risking long term issues, particularly in children. The EarPopper is a clinical device, proven to help restore hearing to normal limits in people suffering from persistent glue ear (otitis media with effusion). The sensation of popping ears is a familiar side effect of flying. Usually the pressure inside and outside the ear is the same. Often changes in air pressure are experienced gradually, allowing our ears to adapt without issues. However, whilst flying there are very fast changes in air pressure. The eustachian tube is located in the middle ear and its main function is to ensure the pressure outside and inside the ear is the same. When our ears pop during a flight it is caused by the eustachian tube adjusting to the rapid change in pressure. When our ears take longer to pop or equalise this is known as negative ear pressure.
