Nature Made Vitamin B-1 is recommended as part of a daily regimen for women's health, stress, heart strength, mood, energy, and fitness. Vitamin B-1, or thiamine, along with other B vitamins, helps produce energy in the body, especially in the brain. Its principal use is to prevent deficiency (especially in diabetes, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological diseases), and help maintain proper mental function, particularly in the elderly. Severe thiamine deficiency is relatively uncommon, except in alcoholics, where a syndrome called Wernicke-Korsakoff (a serious brain disorder) can result from the combination of alcohol intake and a thiamine deficiency. Mild deficiency usually results in fatigue and depression.

Directions

Warnings
Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if imprinted seal under cap is broken or missing. Thiamine is not known to be toxic. Drugs such as alcohol and Dilantin may inhibit thiamin.
